  Cuttack Sports Hostel win Inter-Dist Club football title

Government Sports Hostel, Cuttack emerged champions in the Inter-District Club Football Tournament (Kalinga Cup Qualifying Round), defeating United Sporting Club of Bargarh 2-1 in the final at Gandhi Stadium in Bolangir today.

Bolangir MLA Narsingha Mishra handed over the trophy at the closing function. Football Association of Odisha working president Srikara Mishra, Bolangir District Athletic Association general secretary Harinarayan Pujari, Bargarh District Athletic Association general secretary Prabhat Aditya Mishra were present on the occasion.

Ealier, the championship commenced simultaneously at SITE Campus, Sadeipali and Gandhi Stadium, Bolangir on October 29. The tournament was organized by Bolangir District Athletic Association, under the aegis of Football Association of Odisha.

 

The four semifinalists _ the other being Town Club of Boudh _ qualified for the final round of All-India Kalinga Cup Football Tournament to be held later this year.

October 29:
Match No 1 at Sadeipali:
Town Club, Boud (Anurag Sahoo 12th, 20th, 61st; Bikram Nayak 18th, 46th, 51st; Sesadeb Behera 16th) beat Junglee Club, Puri (Durga Gadsara 21st, Sawan Hembram 31st) 7-2.
Match No 2 at Gandhi Stadium: Patitapaban Club, Ganjam (Tapan Pera 14th, Pintu Behera 57th, Kamala Lochana Sardar 67th) beat Ramdhun Sporting Club, Sonepur 3-0.
October 31:
Match No 3 at Sadeipali:
Town Club, Boudh (Bikram Nayak 8th, 20th, 57th, 65th; Anurag Sahoo 36th, 46th; Sujit Rajhans 31st) beat Bindas Club, Kalahandi (Laxmikanta Sabar 62nd, 67th; Aditya Kumar Majhi 87th) 7-3.
Match No 4 at Gandhi Stadium: United Sports Club, Bargarh (Nabin Sona 85th, Arun Oram 92nd) beat Patitapaban Club, Ganjam (Tridev Mukhi 72nd) 2-1.
November 1:
Match No 5 at Sadeipali:
Sports Hostel, Cuttack (Rudra Pradhan 16th, Sunil Sardar 88th) beat United Club, Bhadrak 2-0.
Match No 6 at Gandhi Stadium: Pataka Club, Angul (Emmahuul 56th, 62nd; Willian Okorle 64th) beat Sambalpur Football Academy (Doman Marandi 80th) 3-1.
November 2:
Match No 7 at Sadeipali:
Birsingha Club, Jharsuguda (Sirod Khan 61st, Sumit Munda 62nd) beat Jay Durga Club, Khurdha (Basanta Sahoo 24th) 2-1.
Match No 8 at Gandhi Stadium: Young Sports Club, Koraput (Bala Mahak 44th, Santosh Muduli 93rd) beat Maa Mangala Athletic Association, Jajpur 2-0.
November 3:
Match No 9 at Sadeipali:
Sports Hostel, Cuttack (Sujit Tirkey 76th) beat Pataka Club, Angul (Abino Koleyan Okari 65th) 4-1 in penalty shoot out (Full time 1-1).
Match No 10 at Gandhi Stadium: Football Association of Phulbani (Antarjami Nayak 13th, 31st; Prasanjeet Oram 21st, Dasrathi Kanwar 66th, Priya Ranjan Seth 85th) beat Jay Hind Club, Sundargarh (Nilambar Sai 40th) 5-1.
November 4:
Match No 11 at Sadeipali: Birla Tyres, Balasore (Sujit Kumar Barik 70th) beat Birsingh Club, Jharsuguda 1-0.
Match No 12 at Gandhi Stadium: Independent Sporting Club, Mayurbhanj (Muni Ram 23 rd) beat Young Sports Club, Koraput (S Kumudini 12th) 3-2 in penalty shoot out (Full time: 1-1).

Sports Hostel, Cuttack (Surendra Soren 61st, 63rd; Bidyadhar Bhoi 65th) beat Birla Tyres, Balasore 3-0.
Match No  14 at Gandhi Stadium: Football Association of Phulbani (Priyaranjan Sethi 3rd, 12th, 27th; Dasrathi Kanhar 5th, 16th; Antarjami Nayak 6th, 60th; Jay Kissan 31st, Nikhil Kanhar 79th) beat Independent Sporting Club, Mayurbhanj (Jay Pal 32nd, Muni Ram 53rd, Nageswar 65th) 9-3.

Match No  15 (First semifinal) at Gandhi Stadium:
Government Sports Hostel, Cuttack (Surendra Soren 12th, Subash Pradhan 41st) beat Town Club,  Boudh 2-0.

Match No 16 (Second semifinal) at Gandhi Stadium: United Sporting Club (Mukesh Bhoi 22nd, Krishna Oram 28th) beat Football Association of Phulbani (Kissan Sando 86th) 2-1.
November 8:
Match No 17 (Final) at Gandhi Stadium:
Govt Sports Hostel, Cuttack (Sujit Tirkey 63rd, Mukesh Minz 77th) beat United Sporting Club, Bargarh (Mukesh Bhoi 55th) 2-1.
