  ONGC win All India Kalinga Cup Football Tournament

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) of Mumbai emerged champions in the All-India Kalinga Cup Football Tournament, defeating Kalighat Milan Sangha of Kolkata 2-1 in the final at Barabati Stadium here today. ONGC received a cheque of Rs 3 lakh, while Kalighat MS settled with Rs 2 lakh. Odisha Sports Minister handed over the coveted trophy at the closing function.

Odisha Olympic Association secretary Asirbad Behera, State Sports Department Secretary Saswat Mishra and Football Association of Odisha president Debashish Samantaray were present on the occasion.

Football Association of Odisha, in collaboration of State Sports & Youth Services Department organised the tournament from Nov 16. The tournament was inaugurated by Odisha Industries and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra.

Eight teams from within the state and 12 from outside vied for the trophy.  Out of the eight home teams, four were the semifinalists of FAO First Division League 2013 (which was played amongst the affiliated clubs/institutions of Football Association of Odisha) and four others were the semifinalists of Inter-District Club Championship (Kalinga Cup Qualifying Round) 2014 which was played amongst champion teams of district League.

Independent Club, Cuttack (Seikh Mustakim 12th, Charles Egwane 21st, Seikh Juber 92nd) beat Government Sports Hostel, Cuttack (Bikash Chandra Padhiary 47th) 3-1.
Nov 16 (Match No 2): Radhagobinda Club, Cuttack (Emeka 24th, 34th, 87th; Ambika Lakra 36th, 44th; Laxman Murmu 63rd) beat Town Club, Boudh (Bharat Maharana 89th) 7-1.
Nov 17 (Match No 3): Jobra Durga Club, Cuttack (Seikh Kutubuddin 48th, Cosmos Chimaokwo 71st) beat United Sporting Club, Bargarh (Ramesh Chandra Murmu 50th) 2-1.
Nov 17 (Match No 4): Football Association of Phulbani (Santosh Tudu 67th) beat Odisha Police 1-0.
Nov 18 (Match No 5): Independent Club (Seikh Mustakim 5th, 30th; Prasanta Naik 39th, 51st) beat Army Xl, Bangalore (Ramu V 41st, Lalaramanlenga Mawia 74th) 4-2.
Nov 18 (Match No 6): Radhagobinda Club (Rajak Nag 79th) beat State Bank of Travancore, Kerala (Jijo Joseph 25th) 6-5 in penalty shoot out (FT: 1-1).
Nov 19 (Match No 9): Jobra Durga Club (Niladree Chakraborty 10th, Seikh Kutubuddin 14th) beat Oil India, Assam (F Wary 46th) 2-1.
Nov 19 (Match No 10): Aryan Club, Kolkata (Suman Malo 68th) beat Football Association of Phulbani 1-0.
Nov 20 (Match No 11): Tata Football Academy, Jamshedpur (Romtan Singh 28th, Aiban Dohling 53rd) beat Independent Club (Charles Orannusi 44th) 2-1.
Nov 20 (Match No 12): Kalighat Milan Sangha Football Club, Kolkata (P Roy 33rd, A Bagui 64th, K Biswas 79th, K Paul 93rd) beat Radhagobind Club 4-0.
Nov 21 (Match No 13): Dalbir Football Academy, Punjab (Sartay Singh 34th, Santosh Kumar 95th) beat Jobra Durga 2-0.
Nov 21 (Match No 14): Aryans, Kolkata (Willams Obinna Drogba 39th, 70th, Austine Chully 63rd ) beat Green Valley United Sporting Club, Kolkata 3-0.
