Ravenshaw University were crowned champions in the 6th SOA Premier League (SPL) cricket tournament when they outplayed Utkal University by seven wickets in the final under lights at the SOA University stadium here today.

The winners took home a cash prize of Rs one lakh while the runners-up received Rs. 50,000. Om Bikash Nayak of Utkal was adjudged the man of the tournament and Ninimesh Jena of Ravenshaw was chosen the man of the final. Both received cash awards of Rs 10,000 each.

Prof DP Ray, former Vice-Chancellor of OUAT and Principal Advisor to the President of SOA University was the chief guest in the final while Odisha Ranji Trophy player Biplab Samantaray was the guest of honour. Samantaray was felicitated on the occasion.

Match No 2: KIIT University 153 in 19.2 overs (Jivmaya 50, Kunal Roy 33, Biswajeet Roy 3/35) beat Centurion University 74 in 15.1 overs (Dhananjay 23; Chandan 2/11, Kunal Roy 2/25) by 79 runs.
