Host Odisha and fancied West Bengal qualified for the final round of the Sub-junior National Football Championship by emerging respective group toppers in the East Zone qualifying tournament, which was organised by Odisha Football Association here at Barabati Stadium from February 4 to 9.

Odisha won all three of their group matches, defeating Sikkim 6-0, Chhattisgarh 7-0 and Sports Authority of India (SAI) 1-0. Beekay Oram was most successful Odisha scorer with six goals to his name. On the other hand, West Bengal won two matches and drew one in their group.

Feb 5 (Match No 3): SAI (Surojit Ghose 29th, 74th; Anup Moni 75th, Rahul Das 82nd) beat Chhattisgarh (Anup Tigga 1st, Abhishek Kunjam 15th) 4-2.
Feb 6 (Match No 4): Bihar (Md Abujar 11th, Rajrai Chand 54th, Sumit Soreng 84th) beat Jharkhand (Raj Kishore Mahato 80th) 3-1.
