  Bhubaneswar-B women lift P C Behera Trophy

Bhubaneswar-B emerged champions in the Senior Women Inter-District Football Championship for P C Behera Trophy, defeating Kendrapada by 2-0 goals in the final at Titlagarh today. Earlier in the semifinals, Bhubaneswar-B beat Cuttack 2-0, while Kendrapara edged out Rourkela Steel Plant 7-6 in penalty shoot out.

Football Association of Odisha is organised the championship from December 28. Altogether 19 teams participated in the tournament. Lochana Munda and Damayanati Tiriya were adjudged as the Player of the Final and Player of the Tournament respectively.

 

Titlagarh MLA Tukuni Sahoo handed over the trophy in the presence of Titlagrah Municipal Corporation Chairman Gobardhan Bag, Block Chairman Gita Bishi, FAO Working President Srikara Mishra, Joint-Secretary Sangeeta Sharma and Bolangir District Athletic Association secretary Hari Narayan Pujari were present on the occasion.

Keonjhar (Manisha Naik 6th) beat Jajpur 1-0.
Dec 29 (Match No 2): Bhubaneswar-A (Malati Munda 43rd) beat Puri 1-0.
Dec 29 (Match No 3): Kendrapada (Menaka Malik one 60th, Jyostana Malik 70th) beat Keonjhar 2-0.
Dec 30 (Match No 4): Rourkela Steel Plant (Ashrita Kangadi 15th, Premsila Lugun 24th, Pyari Xaxa 37th, 44th, 52nd) beat Balasore 5-0.
Dec 30 (Match No 5): Mayurbhanj (Chhitamani Kisku 29th, Purnima Hansdha 39th) beat Khurda 2-0.
Dec 31 (Match No 6): Rourkela Steel Plant (Pyari Xaxa 9th, 12th) beat Mayurbhanj 2-0.
Dec 31 (Match No 7): Kendrapada beat Bhubaneswar-A 5-4 via tie-breaker (Full time 0-0 draw).
Jan 2 (Match No 8, SF): Kendrapada (Menaka Mallick 53rd) beat Rourkela Steal Plant (Ashrika Kangadi 15th) 7-6 in penalty shoot out. Full time 1-1 draw.
