DAV Public School, CDA (Cuttack) retained the trophy in the 12th PVR Murthy Memorial Inter-School Cricket Tournament, defeating Bhubaneswar-based Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) by 12 runs in a repeat final here at Bhubanananda Orissa School of Engineering Ground today.
Former India allrounder Manoj Prabhakar handed over the trophy in the closing function. Former Odisha Ranji team captains Karun Dube and Lalitendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra, former Odisha Cricket Association secretary Ashirbad Behera, former BCCI vice-president Pravat Mishra and Union Sporting Club secretary Pradeep Chauhan were present on the occasion.
Visually impaired international cricketers Sukhram Majhi and Mohammad Jafar Iqbal were felicitated in the function with cash awards of Rs 5,000 each. The tournament was organised by Union Sporting Club from April 10. Altogether 16 teams from twin city Cuttack and Bhubaneswar have joined the tournament, which was inaugurated by BOSE Principal P R Mohanty.
