Odisha boys Asish Sinha bagged a double by winning both the singles and double titles in the AITA Super Series Under-16 Tennis Tournament, held Union Club in Raipur, Chhattisgarh from June 5 to 9, 2017. He defeated Udayveer Singh (CH) in the singles final 6-4, 0-6, 7-5.

Earlier in the semifinals, third seed Asish fought brilliantly to get the better of Hitesh P (Tamil Nadu) 7-6 (2), 3-6, 6-1. On the basis of his impressive performance in this tournament, Asish gathered 50 AITA ranking points in singles.

In boys’ doubles final, Asish and his partner Udayveer prevailed over Rudra Kapoor (Uttar Pradesh) and Arun Venkat Guruswamy (Tamil Nadu) 6-0, 6-0. Odisha girl Ameek Kiran Batth also participated in the tournament, but lost in the singles semifinals to top seed Dharna Muddully 7-5, 3-6, 4-6.
