Raghunath Jew College, Cuttack won the title in the Utkal University Inter-College Basketball Championship, which concluded here at Biju Patnaik Sports Complex, Vani Vihar today. Raghunath Jew College beat BJB Autonomous College, Bhubaneswar in the final by 32-25 points.

Altogether 82 players from seven colleges participated in the tournament, which was organised by Utkal University Sports Council (UUSC). Earlier in the semifinals, Raghunath Jew College defeated Dev Ray College, Bhubaneswar 28-26, while BJB College prevailed over Christ College, Cuttack 19-7.

UUSC Director Prof Kabir Mohan Sethi handed over the prizes in the closing ceremony. UUSC Physical Education Officer Ambika Prasad Ray, departmental officer Pramod Kumar Nayak, tournament coordinator Pradeep Kumar Samantasinghar, Dr Prabir Kumar Mohanty, Dr Benudhar Das, Manas Kumar Panda were present on the occasion. Matches were conducted by Deba Prasad Sahoo, Mohammad Sahid, Sumant Kumar Mohapatra and Binit Minz.
