Rising Student Club won Football Association of Odisha (FAO) Women’s League title with nine points at Barabati Stadium here today. Govt Sports Hostel finished runners-up with eight points. Winners became richer by Rs 25,000 and the runners-up Rs 15,000.
The tournament with five teams and a total of 10 matches was organised by Football Association of Odisha (FAO from September 11. The champion team also became eligible to compete in the qualifying round of the Indian Women’s League-2017.
Odisha Sports & Youth Services Minister Chandra Sarathi Behera handed over the trophy in the presence of Odisha Athletic Association secretary Asirbad Behera and FAO secretary Sanjay Behera.
