Sahil Suman Bhuyan and Swetapadma Dalai bagged a treble each by winning three titles in the 2nd R N Singh Deo Memorial All-Odisha Ranking Table Tennis Tournament, which was held at Railway Recreation Club in Bolangir from September 22 to 24, 2017.
Cuttack boy Sahil won the three titles in youth, junior and sub-junior boys’ singles events, while Bhuaneswar St Xavier’s International School student Swetapadma emerged champion in junior, sub-junior and cadet girls’ singles categories.
Asif Haque of Reserve Bank of India retailed the men’s singles crown, while Poushali Ghatak of AG Odisha emerged champion in women’s singles event. The tournament was organised by Bolangir District Table Tennis Association (BDTTA), under the aegis of Odisha State Table Tennis Association (OSTTA).
Trophies were given away by tournament committee chairman Arkesh Narayan Singhdeo, Bolangir Municipal Council chairperson Santosini Behera and Bolangir Block Chairman Golab Bag. BDTTA secretary Sumit Ranjan Purohit, chief referee Bijay Das Mohapatra and referees Sujit Ray, Tapan Kha, Kalol Ganguly and Chinna Rao were present on the occasion.

Men: Asif Haque (RBI) beat Tousif Haque (ESI) 4-2 (11-8, 14-12, 11-8, 8-11, 6-11, 11-8).
Women: Poushali Ghatak (AG Odisha) beat Sukruti Bhagat (Cuttack) 4-1 (11-2, 11-7, 11-4, 6-11, 11-7).
Cadet girls: Swetapadma Dalai (Bhubaneswar) beat Sohalika Sodavaram (Bhubaneswar) by points in league format competition.
Sub-junior girls: Swetapadma Dalai beat Nandini Biswal (Bhubaneswar) 4-1 (11-8, 10-12, 11-6, 11-7, 11-4).
Junior girls: Swetapadma Dalai beat Sukruti Bhagat 4-0 (11-6, 13-11, 11-7, 11-7).
Cadet boys: Archit Kumar Behera (DAV Unit-8, Bhubaneswar) beat Ayan Mustaq Khan (Cuttack) 3-2.
Junior boys: Sahil Suman Bhuyan (Cuttack) beat M Eshwar Rao (Cuttack) 4-2 (11-6, 11-4, 7-11, 6-11, 11-2, 11-4).
Youth boys: Sahil Suman Bhuyan beat Jibajit Deb (Cuttack) 4-3.
Sub-junior boys: Sahil Suman Bhuyan beat Abinash Tripathy (Khurda) by points in league format competition.
