A 10-member Odisha squad has bagged a total of nine medals in the 10th National Grappling Championship, which was held at Chhatrasal Stadium in Delhi from July 21 to 23, claimed Odisha Grapplning Association (OGA) today. The nine medals include six gold, two silver and one bronze.

According unsigned e-mails, received from Utkal Karate School, the office of OGA, Madhupriya Bai ane d Anoushka Priyadarshini secured the two gold medals in under-12 and under-16 age groups respectively, while Monali Das won the silver in under-16 girls’ 58kg category on the opening day.

On the closing day, Priyadarshini Ghatuari (women`s 58kg), Bhagaban Reddy (boys` 50kg), Shubhakanta Biswal (boys-11 year) and Monali Das (girls` 58kg) secured one gold medal each, while Anirban Mer (men`s 70kg) and Madhupriya Bai (girls 12 year) claimed one silver and one bronze respectively.

All the gold-medal winners qualified to represent India in the South Asian Grappling Championship, scheduled to be held at Talkatora Stadium in Delhi in December this year.
