Odisha suffered a three-wicket defeat against Tripura in their Vinoo Mankad Trophy East Zone One-day league match at Railway Stadium in Dhanbad (Jharkhand) today. Tripura gained four points from this win, while Odisha got none.

Opting to bat after winning the toss, Odisha made a competitive total of 167 for eight in the stipulated 50 overs. Captain Swastik Samal and Somen Chand were joint top-scorers for Odisha with 38 runs each. In reply, D Debbarma hit an unbeaten 73 to guide Tripura to victory. Krishna Palai was the most successful bowler for Odisha, capturing three wickets for 28 runs.

This was the second defeat for Odisha, who lost their opening match earlier yesterday without playing against host Jharkhand. Since the ground was wet due to rain for the past five days, Odisha found it unplayable and reported to the match referee. But when the latter forced them to play, Odisha refused to do so and submitted a written complaint. Under the circumstances, the match and full four points were awarded to Jharkhand.
