Host Jharkhand posted a seven-wicket win over Odisha in their East Zone U-19 Women’s one-day league match at JSCA Oval Ground in Ranchi today. Jharkhand secured four points for their emphatic win, while Odisha drew blank.

Opting to bat after winning the toss, Odisha rode on a 69-ball 41 by Tarana Pradhan to make a modest total of 138 for seven in the stipulated 50 overs. Jharkhand comfortably overhauled the target in 39.3 overs, thanks to an unbeaten half-century by Durga Kumari Murmu and her 97-run unfinished partnership for the fourth wicket with Sonia, who hit an unbeaten 35.

Kalpana Nayak captured two wickets for Odisha. This was the first defeat in two matches for Odisha, who will next meet Assam on November 8.
