Three-wicket hauls by Abhishek Raut and Prayash Singh helped Odisha beat Assam by 51 runs in their second match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy East Zone T-20 League at JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi today. This was the first win for Odisha, who lost to Bengal by seven wickets in their opening match two days ago.

Chasing modest target of 129 today, Assam were bundled out for 77. Earlier put into bat, Odisha made 128 for nine in the stipulated 20 overs. Among Odisha batsmen, Debasish Samantray top-scored with 25, while captain Anurag Sarangi contributed 22. Wicket-keeper-batsman Rajesh Dhuper was another notable performer for Odisha, effecting three stumpings.
