  Swamy wins AITA U-16 Talent Series singles title

Odisha players won one out of three singles titles and finished runner-up in all three events of the TAB-AITA-OTA Talent Series U-12 and U-16 Tennis Tournament, which concluded at Kalinga Stadium Tennis Complex here today. Local favourited and second seed D Aryan won the lone title in U-16 boys category, defeating state-mate Ashish Kumar Parida in the final by 2-1 sets.

Ethan Thai Shing Lee of West Bengal emerged U-12 boys singles champion, beating Odisha opponent Lalita Tudu in straight sets. The U-16 girls singles title was captured by fourth seed Taru Sai Joshi of West Bengal, upsetting second seed Odisha opponent Simran Neha Ekka also in straight sets. Title winners gained 15 AITA ranking points each and the runner-up 12 apiece.

TIME Bhubaneswar Centre Director Alok Acharya handed over the trophies in presence of host Tennis Association of Bhubaneswar (TAB) president Girija Shankar Acharya, vice-president Biswajit Rath, secretary Bijay Kumar Sahoo, Odisha Tennis Association (OTA) manager Prakash Patnayak and tournament referee Jatin Batsya.
