  Kalahandi Cup Cricket: Fancied teams post wins

Cuttack A and B, Bhubaneswar A and B, East Coast Railway, Balasore, Bhadrak and Bargarh registered convincing wins in the first eight preliminary league matches of the Kalahandi Cup Senior Men Inter-District Cricket Tournament, which commenced at different grounds here today.

As many as three batsmen scored a century each, while 17 others hit a half-century apiece. In the bowling department, five players bagged five or more wickets each. Bhubaneswar-A mustered the highest total total of 339 for six against Paradeep, while the Jajpur registered the lowest of 22 for nine against Bargarh. The tournament, featuring 37 teams, is being organised by Odisha Cricket Association.

Manas Beura, Biraj Dash, Jayakrushna Dut, Sandeep Jee, Pradip Kumar Jena, Rashmi Ranjan Malla, Nirmal Kumar Mishra, Satyabrata Mohapatra, Birabara Nayak, Chudamani Padhy, Sambit Pattnaik, Bibekananda Rout, Sabyasachi Saha, Bibhuti Bhusan Satapathy, Sudhansu Satrujeet, CP Mohapatra, Anand Sahu and Govinda Behera were the umpires of the day
