  Cricket for Blind: India win T20I series 4-1

World champions India beat Sri Lanka in the last two games today to clinch the five-match T20I series between the two countries 4-1 at Burgher Recreation Club ground in Colombo. Led by Ajay Reddy, India won the fourth T20I by eight wickets and the last one by 10 wickets.

Earlier, Sri Lanka stunned India in the third match by nine runs, while India won the first two by seven wickets and three runs respectively. Before winning the T20I series, India lost the three-match ODI series 1-2. This was the first ever bilateral series between the two countries. Odisha player Lingaraj Routray is representing India in this bilateral series.

 

Former Sri Lankan captain and Ports and Shipping Minister Arjuna Ranatunga was the chief guest for the prize distribution ceremony. Sunil Ramesh was awarded the Man of the Series trophy in B3 category, while Ajay Reddy and Ajith Silva were awarded the same in B2 and B1 category respectively.

RESULTS:

July 19 (1st T20): Sri Lanka
168/8 in 20 overs (Ruwan 39, Chandana 24; Naresh Shoukat Ali 1/22) lost to India 169/3 in 34.1 overs (Sunil R 52*, Ganesh Mahudkar 34, Ajay Reddy 25*) by 7 wickets. Man of the Match: Sunil R.

July 20 (2nd T20): India 180/8 in 20 overs (Sunil R 42, Ajay Kumar Reddy 31, Ganesh Mahudkar 27) beat Sri Lanka 177/8 in 20 overs (Ajith Silva 64*, Chandana 41; Amol Karche 2/18) by 3 runs. MoM: Sunil R.

July 23 (3rd T20I): Sri Lanka 190/8 in 20 overs (Ajith Silva 74, Chandana 43; Sunil R 1/37) beat India 181/6 in 20 overs (Sunil 51*; Sahan 2/38, Ajith Silva 2/42) by 9 runs. MoM: Ajith Silva.

July 24 (4th T20I): Sri Lanka 148/9 in 20 overs (Chandana 30, Ajay Reddy 2/20, Amol Karche 2/27) lost to India 152/2 in 15.2 overs (Durga Rao 68*, Ajay Reddy 37, Naresh Tumda 30) by 8 wickets.

July 24 (5th T20I): Sri Lanka
189/5 in 20 overs (Ajith Silva 64, Chandana 80, Akbar Ansar 1/19) lost to India 190/0 in 16 overs (Sunil Ramesh 107*, Ajay Reddy 66*) by 10 wickets.
