  Football: India U-16 boys end tour with win

The India U-16 football team, featuring two players from Odisha, ended their three-nation exposure tour with a consolation win, defeating Malaysia U-16 by 2-1 goals in the 2nd International Friendly in Kuala Lumpur today.

The 27-day exposure tour featured a total of eight matches in China, Thailand and Malaysia. Out of the eight, India won two, drew two and lost four. India U-16 boys team started the tour from the Four-Nation Hua Shan Cup International Youth Football Tournament in Weinan City, China.

Odisha players were Bekey Oram and Samir Kerketta. Bekey was a regular member of the team, playing all the eight matches. But it is not known how many matches Samir played.

India U-16 Team for the last match: Niraj Kumar (GK), Manish Chaudhary, Harpreet Singh, Thoiba Singh, Shabas Ahammed, Bekey Oram (Bikash 90`+3`), Ricky Shabong, Ridge Demello (Ravi Bahadur Rana 72`), Givson Singh (31`) (Sailo 78`), Vikram Singh (C), Rohit Danu (21`) (Harpreet 84`).

TOUR RESULTS:
July 3: India U-16 lost to China U-17 (…) 0-1.
July 5: India U-16 lost to Thailand U-16 (…) 1-3.
July 7: India U-16 (Vikram Pratap Singh 77) drew with DPR Korea 1-1.
July 12: Indian U-16 (Bhuvnesh Shindre 3’, Danu 83’) beat Buriram United FC of Thailand 2-0.
July 17: India U-16 (Ricky John Shabong 83’, Ravi 86’) drew with Bangkok Glass U-17 FC (…) 2-2.
July 20: India U-16 (Vikram Pratap Singh 18’) lost to Thailand U-16 (…) 1-2.
July 23: India U-16 lost to Malaysia U-16 (…) 0-3.
July 26: India U-16 (Rohit Danu 21’, Givson Singh 31’) beat Malaysia U-16 (…) 2-1.
