Fazal Ahamed of Rajasthan and Tanuja of Andhra Pradesh won the men’s and women’s singles titles respectively in the 3rd All India Invitation Carrom Tournament-2018, which was jointly organised by Carrom Association of Odisha and All India Youth Brigade at Barabati Stadium here from July 26 to 29.

Sidhant Wadwalkar of Maharashtra and L Haripriya of Andhra Pradesh emerged boys’ and girls’ singles champion respectively. A total of 390 players, including 30 women from different states and institutions participated in the tournament, which witnessed a number of black and white slams.

Odisha Athletic Association secretary Asirbad Behera handed over the trophies in the presence of Carrom Association of Odisha president Satya Narayan Mohanty, secretary Usha Ranjan Parija and All India Youth Brigade president Ritesh Joshi.

RESULTS (All finals): Girls singles: L Haripriya (AP) beat Sk Husna Sameera (Airport Authority of India). Boys singles: Sidhant Wadwalkar (Maharashtra) beat Vijay Dhaje (Goa). Men’s singles: Fazal Ahamed (Rajasthan) beat Amol Sawardekar (Maharashtra). Women singles: Tanuja (AP) beat MSK Harika (AP).
