Puri beat Phulbani by six wickets in their second and last Group-G preliminary league match of the Under-16 Boys Inter-District Cricket Tournament here today. This was the second win for Puri and that carried them to the Super League stage. Dhenkanal, Paradeep and Jagatsinghpur scripted wins in three other preliminary league matches of the day.

Dhenkanal rode on a six-wicket haul by Madhusudan Sahu to trounce Gajapati by 111 runs. Subham Sethy bagged five wickets to steer Paradeep to a seven-run win over Mayurbhanj, while a six-wicket haul by Rabi Nandan Sahoo enabled Jagatsinghpur defeat Kalahandi by three runs.
