Odisha suffered their second straight defeat in the Vijay Hazare Trophy Elite Group-B League whey they lost to Kerala by six wickets at Airforce Complex ground, Palam, New Delhi today. Put into bat by Kerala captain Sachin Baby, Odisha were bowled out for 117 in 34.4 overs. Kerala overhauled the target in 37.3 overs, losing four wickets in the process. Sachin Baby was the top scorer for Kerala with 41 runs.
Batting failure cost Odisha dear as only four batsmen could reach double digits. Kerala spinners did maximum damage to the Odisha innings with Akshay Chandran and Jalal Saxena taking four and three wickets respectively. Amidst the defeat, spinner Pappu Roy shone for Odisha, picking up two wickets.
