Odisha suffered a nine-wicket defeat against Tamil Nadu in their seventh and last Elite Group-C league match of the Vinoo Mankad Trophy U-19 One-Day Limited-Overs Tournament at Jaipuria Vidyalaya Ground in Jaipur today.

Electing to bat, Odisha mustered a respectable total of 215. Tamil Nadu overhauled the target in 29.4 overs losing one wicket. Tamil Nadu opening batsman P Praveen Kumar made the chase easier with an unbeaten 116, while his teammate Pradosh Ranjan Paul hit an unconquered 83.

Odisha finished seventh in the eight-team Group-C with eight points. Led by Raghunath Malla, Odisha won two matches and lost five. Tamil Nadu qualified for the quarterfinals, winning all of their seven matches and full 28 points. Swastik Samal turned out to be the most successful Odisha batsman, scoring a total of 352 runs, which included one century and one half-century.
