  CK Nayudu Trophy: Kerala beat Odisha by 130 runs

Kerala defeated Odisha by 130 runs on the fourth and last day of their C K Nayudu Trophy U-23 Elite Group-C match at Vikash Ground in Bargarh today. This was the third defeat for Odisha, who remained at the eighth position in nine-team group with three points from for matches.

Despite the defeat, four players put up impressive performance for Odisha in the match against Kerala. Among them, Ashish Rai bagged five wickets in the first innings and nine in the match, Soubhagya Ranjan Mishra hit a half-century in both the innings and wicket-keeper Kshyamasagar Bal scored a half-century in the second innings and held five catches in the match.

For the record, Kerala made 290 in the first innings after opting to bat. In reply Odisha were all out for 203 to concede a lead of 87 runs. Kerala then declared their second innings at 283 for five and set a daunting target of 371 for hosts Odisha to win the match. But the home team folded up for 240 in the second essay. Odisha will next meet Railways at VSS Stadium in Sambalpur from December 8 to 11.
