Despite a second-innings century by Anil Parida and a half-century by Swastik Samal, Odisha lost to hosts Andhra by nine wickets on the fourth and last day of their third-round Cooch Behar Trophy U-19 Elite Group-C match at Dr PVG Raju ACA Sports Complex in Vizianagaram today.

Put into bat, Odisha were bowled out for 124 due to a top-order collapse, which saw them get reduced to 41 for five. In reply, Andhra made 407 to take a lead of 283 runs. Sekhar Majhi and Umesh Yadav bowled well for Odisha, capturing four wickets each.

Odisha put up impressive performance in the second innings as compiled a healthy total of 320, thanks to 140 (372b, 20x4, 2x6) by Anil Parida and 50 (99b, 9x4) by Swastik Samal. Andhra won the match by overhauling an easy target of 38, losing one wicket in the process. This was the second defeat in three matches for Odisha, who will next meet Tripura at DRIEMS Ground in Tangi, near here from December 10 to 13.
