The three-day East Zone Vijay Merchant Trophy U-16 league match between Odisha and Jharkhand ended in a draw here at Sunshine Ground today. But Jharkhand gathered three point by virtue of taking 88-run first-innings lead, while Odisha settled with one point.
Opting to bat, Jharkhand rode on a superb knock of 153 by Sharandeep Singh to compile a total of 315. Ramesh Melaka was most successful Odisha bowler, scalping four wickets for 61 runs.
In reply, Odisha made 227 to concede the first-innings lead. Biswa Bibhab Muduli was the top scorer with 62 runs. Abhishek bagged five wickets for Jharkhand. When the match ended on the third and final day, Jharkhand were 31 for no loss in the second innings. Odisha will next meet Assam here from November 2 to 4.
