Cuttack boy Sahil Suman Bhuyan and Bhubaneswar girl Swetapadma Dalai bagged trebles by winning three titles each in the 13th KDTTA State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament, held at Sahid Nagar Table Tennis Hall here from October 26 to 28, 2018.
Sahil won the three titles in youth, sub-junior and junior singles events, while Swetapadma emerged champion in cadet, sub-junior and junior singles categories. The men’s and women’s singles crowns were claimed by State No 1 Asif Haque of RBI and lesser-known Mayuri Chatterjee of Bhadrak respectively. Ayan Mustaque (Cuttack) won the title in cadet boys singles event.
The tournament was organised by Khurda District Table Tennis Association (KDTTA), under the aegis of Odisha State Table Tennis Association. Electrical Chief Engineer Suresh Chandra Moharana presented the trophies in the closing ceremony.
KDTTA secretary Smruti Ranjan Das, joint-secretary Sasanka Mohapatra, organising secretary Bijan Dasmohapatra, chief referee Tapan Kha, assistant referees Sujit Ray, KSN Murty, K Chinna and KVP Ramarao were were present on the occasion.
