Leading Odisha tennis player Kabir Hans finished singles runner-up in the Indore ITF Juniors ournament (Grade-5), held at Indore Tennis Club in Indore from January 28 to February 2, 2019. He lost to fellow Indian Ajay Malik 2-6, 3-6 in the final today.

Second seed Hans reached the final, beating Iqbal Mohd Khan (Ind) 7-6(8), 6-2 in first round; Girish Chougule (Ind) 6-1, 6-3 in second round; Ishan Sethi (Ind,*6) 6-2, 6-1 in quarterfinals, Denim Yadav (Ind,*3) 6-1, 7-5 in semifinals.

This was the second time that Hans settled as singles runner-up in an ITF Junior Tournament. He had done it earlier at Uttarakhand Open, held at Dehradun in March, 2018.

In doubles, Kabir Hans and Deepender Grewal reached semifinals before losing to India-USA combination of Aashutosh Kulkarni and Arjun Sriram 6-7(1), 6-4 (5-10). Second seed Hans and Grewal reached semifinals, defeating Indian opponents Vansh Kapoor and Sammr Raina (India) in the first round and Nishant Dabas and Boopathy Sakthivel 6-3, 6-1 in the quarterfinals.
