  Kajal, Anjali propel Odisha to emphatic win vs J&K

Half-century each by Kajal Jena and Anjali Singh propelled Odisha to an 86-run win over Jammu & Kashmir in their Group-E match of the BCCI Women U-23 T20 League at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot today. This was the fourth win for Odisha and they now have 16 points from five games.

Electing to bat, Odisha compiled a healthy total of 160 for no loss in the stipulated 20 overs. Punishing the J&K bowlers, Anjali and Kajal slammed unbeaten 97 (78b, 16x4) and 56 (42b, 6x4, 1x6) respectively. In reply, J&K were restricted to 74 for nine.

Humaira Farooq stood out among J&K batsmen, hitting an 18-ball 41 with the help of six boundaries and two sixes. Among Odisha bowlers, Barsarani Singh was most successful with three wickets for 10 runs, while Subhra Nirjharini Swain and Rajashree Swain picked up a brace each. Odisha will next meet formidable Railways at Jaipuria Vidyalaya Ground in Rajkot tomorrow.
