Hosts Odisha made a clean sweep of all six titles in the AITA-OTA Talent Series U-12 & U-16 Tennis Tournament, which was held at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar from March 25 to 29, 2019. Among the Odisha players, D Aryan Swamy, Lalit Tudu and Sohini Mohanty stood out with a double crown each.

Swamy emerged in under-16 boys singles and doubles. Sambit Nanda was the doubles partner of Swamy and the former also finished runner-up in under-16 boys singles event. In under-16 boys doubles, Odisha pair of Bishesh Sahoo and Pranesh Sahoo finished runners-up.

Tudu won the two titles in under-12 boys singles and doubles with Dishanta Mohanty as his doubles partner. They beat statemates Kaamlesh Rath and Aniket Sahoo in the doubles final. In under-16 singles event, Arush Sarma, also from Odisha, settled as runner-up.

Sohini clinched the double by emerging champion in under-12 and under-16 girls singles events. Meant only for East Zone players, the tournament had a total of 70 participants from three states _ West Bengal, Bihar and host Odisha. Title winner and losing finalists gained 15 and 12 AITA ranking points respectively.

Odisha Tennis Association (OTA) vice-president Brahmananda Mishra gave away the trophies at the presentation ceremony. Tournament director B K Das, tournament referee Jatin Batsya and OTA manager Prakash Patnaik were present on the occasion.

U-12 Boys Singles: Lalit Tudu (ODI) beat Arush Sarma (ODI) 6-0, 4-6, 6-3.
U-12 Boys Doubles: Lalit Tudu-Dishanta Mohanty (ODI) beat Kaamlesh Rath-Aniket Sahoo (ODI) 6-2, 6-7(3), (10-6).
U-16 Boys Singles: D Aryan Swamy (ODI) beat Bighnesh Nanda (Odi) 6-1, 6-3.
U-16 Boys Doubles: D Aryan Swamy-Bighnesh Nanda (Odi) beat Bishesh Sahoo-Pranesh Sahoo (ODI) 6-2, 6-3.
U-12 Girls Singles: Sohini Mohanty (ODI) beat Sohinee Chatterjee (WB) 6-0, 6-3.
U-16 Girls Singles: Sohini Mohanty (ODI) beat Tamanna Saha (WB) 6-1, 6-0.
