Odisha tasted double success in tennis yesterday with Kabir Hans winning ITF Junior (Grade 4) boys doubles title in Chennai and Kaamlesh Rath emerging AITA Championship Series U-12 boys singles champion in Karnal, Haryana.

Bhubaneswar lad Kabir claimed the doubles title at the YMCA TTT-ITF Juniors Tennis Tournament with fellow Indian Uddayvir Singh as his partner. They beat compatriots Subash Paramsivam and Sandeep VM in the final 7-6(2), 6-2.

This was the second career ITF Junior doubles title for Kabir, who had won his first at the same venue and same tournament on 24 August, 2018. However, Kabir missed out on a double crown as he lost in the singles final against top seed Dev Javia, also from India 5-7, 1-6 today.
