  Panthers survive Jaguars scare; Post 5th successive win

High flying Odisha Panthers survived anxious moments to edge out Odisha Jaguars by three runs, via super over in the exciting 15th match of the MGM Odisha T20 Cricket League at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack today. The match went to the super over as the contest in the stipulated 20 overs ended in a tie.

Panthers batsman Nisikanta Rout scored an unbeaten 32 to be adjudged the Man of the match. This was fifth win in a row for the Panthers, who cemented their place at the top of the league table with 20 points. On the other hand, Jaguars remained at the bottom of the table without any point.

Odisha Lions hammered Odisha Tigers by 67 runs in the overall 16th and the second match of the day. Lions allrounder Nauttam Bhanja was the main architect of the Lions win, scoring 26 runs and bagging three wickets for five runs. He was named the Man of the Match. This was the second win for the Lions and second defeat for the Tigers.

Match 16: Odisha Lions 147/9 in 20 overs (Sujit Lenka 32, Deepak Behera 27, Nauttam Bhanja 26, Rakesh Pattanaik 23; B Shiva 2/28, Shekhar Majhi 2/30) beat Odisha Tigers 80/9 in 20 overs (Harshit Rathod 27; Nauttam Bhanja 3/5, Sibhasish Sahoo 2/8, Alok Mangaraj 2/9, Rakesh Pattanaik 2/20) by 67 runs.
