Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) has planned to conduct a domestic T20 League at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack from 14 to 31 December, 2020. This was decided in a meeting of the OCA Finance Committee & Tournament Committee at OCA Club in Cuttack today.

According to an OCA press release, the T20 League, christened as Odisha Cricket League T-20, has been planned to prepare Odisha Senior Men Team for participation in the Syed Mustaque Ali Trophy, the national domestic T20 event of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The OCL T-20 will feature six teams, involving the best 84 players of the state. The 84 players will be scouted from a pool of 168 cricketers through trial matches, likely to be held on 5th December, 2020. The 168 players will be called for trial matches based on the performance of Vision 2024 Intra-Club Tournament and BCCI matches.

The OCL T-20 will be conducted in association with TCM Sports Pvt Ltd, which has been closely working with major events such as IPL, ICC World Cup, Khelo India and ISL. TCM Sports has already conducted T-20 leagues in Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Puduchery. Such league is also underway in Bengal and will be followed in Kerala from 17 December, 2020.

Matches of OCL T-20 will be played under lights and will be live streamed through over the top app (OTT) FANCODE. The tournament will take place in a bio-secured bubble and matches will be played without crowd, subject to the approval of State Government. All the prevailing COVID guidelines will be followed strictly.

OCA president Pankaj Lochan Mohanty, secretary Sanjay Behera, vice-presidents Akahay Kumar Samant, joint-secretary Mehtab Khan, treasurer Bikash Pradhan, CEO  Subrat Kumar Behera and council members were present in the meeting. Odisha women cricketer Sushree Dibyadarshini, who represented Team Velocity at the Women T-20 Challenge in UAE, was felicitated on the occasion.
