Indian Women hockey team, featuring four players from Odisha, ended their Argentina tour with a 1-1 draw against Argentina Women in the eighth and last match in Buenos Aires yesterday. The four Odisha players were: Deep Grace Ekka, Namita Toppo, Lilima Minz and Rashmita Minz.

Overall, the tour proved to be disappointing one for Team India as they failed to win any match. Led by Rani Rampal, India drew two matches each against the Argentina Junior and Argentina-B team, lost two and drew one against Argentina Women.

The seventh match, scheduled to be played against Argentina Women was abandoned due to incessant rains. The exposure tour of Argentina was part of their preparations for the Olympic Games. India were playing their first competitive tour since February 2020.

January 20: India Women (Rani Rampal 58th) drew with Argentina Junior Women (PC 13th) 1-1.
January 23: India Women (Salima Tete 54th) lost to Argentina-B Women (Sol Pagella 11th, Agustina Gorzelany 57th) 1-2.
January 25: India Women (Salima Tete 6th, Gurjit Kaur 42nd) lost to Argentina-B Women (Sol Pagela 25th, Constanza Cerundolo 38th, Agustina Gorzelany 39th) 2-3.
January 27: India Women (Sharmila 35-FG, Gurjit Kaur 40-PC) lost to Argentina Women (Micaela Retegui 25-FG, Augustina Gorzelany 50-PS, Granatto Maria 57-FG) 2-3.
January 29: India Women lost to Argentina Women (Silvina D`elia 2-PC, Agustina Albertarrio 54-PC) 0-2.
January 30: India Women vs Argentina Women (Match abandoned due to incessant rains).
January 31: India Women (Rani Rampal 35th-FG) drew with Argentina Women (Emilia Forcherio 55th-PS) 1-1.
