  Sub-jr Men Natl Hockey: Odisha bow out in quarterfinals

Hockey Odisha bowed out from the quarterfinal stage of the 11th Hockey India Sub-Junior Men National Championship, losing to Manipur 0-2 in penalty shoot out at Uchana in Jind, Haryana today. The hard-fought match went to the shoot-out round after play in the regulation time ended in 0-0 draw. In the shoot out, none of the Odisha players was able to score.

Earlier, Hockey Odisha barged into the quarterfinals, winning both of their Pool-A league matches by handsome margin and emerging pool toppers with six points. They beat Uttarakhand 5-0 in the opening match and then drubbed Chhattisgarh Hockey 8-0.

March 17:
Hockey Odisha (Satish Munda 4-PC, Pratap Toppo 18-FG, 21-FG, Ankit Majhi 43-PC, Abhisek Topno 45-FG) beat Uttarakhand 5-0.
March 19: Hockey Odisha (Bilkan Oram 7-FG, 40-PC; Satish Munda 19-FG, Abhisek Topno 21-FG, Ajit Mahato 24-FG, 53-FG; Menjas Ekka 52-FG, 54-FG) beat Chhattisgarh Hockey 8-0.
March 22 (QF): Hockey Odisha lost to Manipur Hockey 0-2 in penalty shoot out.
