  Madhuri, Sushree, Janaki share honours in OWCL

Internationals Madhuri Meheta and Sushree Dibyadarshini shared honours along with D Janaki Reddy in the third-round matches of the OCA Women Cricket League at different grounds in Bhubaneswar today. The tournament is being organised by Odisha Cricket Association.

Leading from the front Madhuri slammed a 135-ball 102 to spur Odisha Red to a 38-run win over Odisha Yellow. This was the first win in three matches for the Reds and first defeat for the Yellows.

Odisha Violet posted their second win, defeating Odisha Orange by 65 runs in the eighth match. Violet captain Sushree Dibyadarshini led from the front, hitting a power-packed 89 off 69 balls. Stumper Rasmita Chinhara provided nice support to Sushree with a half-century.
 

A magnificent haul of five wickets for 14 runs by D Janaki Reddy propelled Odisha Greeen to an eight-wikcket win over Odisha Purple in the ninth match of the tournament. This was the second win for Green and third defeat in a row for the Purple.

Match 7 (At Vikash Ground): Odisha Red 198/7 in 50 overs (Madhuri Meheta 102, Silpa Swain 32; Taranna Pradhan 3/34, Priyanka P Sahu 2/18) beat Odisha Yellow 160/10 in 43.4 overs (Anjali Singh 43; Rajashree Swain 2/21, Sriya Chakra 2/15) by 38 runs.

Match 8 (At KIIT Ground): Odisha Violet 218/5 in 50 overs (Sushree Dibyadarshini 89, Rasmita Chinhara 62; Smruti R Mahanta 1/12) beat Odisha Orange 153/9 in 50 overs (Sunita Murmu 70*, Rasanara Parwin 21; Sujata Mallik 2/26, Preeti Priyadarsani 2/30, Tanmayee Behera 2/15) by 65 runs.

Match 9 (At Town Club Ground): Odisha Purple: 127/10 in 48.1 overs (Alipsa Biswal 37, Madhusmita Behera 27; D Janaki Reddy 5/14, Kalpana Nayak 2/19, SB Lorence 2/22) lost to Odisha Green 128/2 in 37.5 overs (Pragyan P Mohanty 44*, Sasmita Mahalik 37, Subhra N Swain 31*; Rani K Prasad 2/18) by 8 wickets.
