Superb allround performance by captain Madhusmita Behera propelled table-toppers Odisha Purple to a 45-run win over Odisha Green in the 16th match of the MGM Odisha Women T20 Cricket League (OWCL) at KIIT Cricket Ground in Bhubaneswar today. This was the fifth win for Odisha Purple and they maintained their sole lead with 20 points from six matches.

Madhusmita hit a 59-ball unbeaten 68 and bagged three wickets for 18 runs to take home the prize as woman of the match. In reply to a strong total of 154 for no loss by the Purple, Odisha Green could make 109 for six. Purple opener Sarita Meher continued her roaring form in the tournament, hitting an unbearn 79 off 61 balls today.

Odisha Violet beat Odisha Yellow by eight wickets in the 15th match earlier in the day. Violet bowler Kuni Badara was adjudged the woman of the match for taking two wickets for 13 runs. With this win, their fourth in seven games, Violet shared the second place in the league table with Odisha Red having 16 points each.
