Odisha girl Pratyasha Jena has qualified for the FIDE Online Cadets & Youth Rapid World Cup, scheduled to be held from 1 to 30 August 2021. She made the cut by finishing sixth in the Online National U-10 Girls Chess Championship, which was held from 1 to 3 July, 2021.

A total of 334 players from different States and Union Territories participated in the 11-round National championship, which was organised by All India Chess Federation (AICF). Pratyasha scored nine points out of a possible 11.

Standard-V student of St Josephs Girls High School, Cuttack, represented Odisha in the National U-10 Girls Championship after winning the girls title in the State U-10 Online Chess Championship held earlier this year on June 17 and 18. She also finished State U-14 girls runner-up.
