18 Aug 2021

Ganjam captain and wicket-keeper Debasish Behera cracked an unbeaten 105 (108 balls) to power his team to a five-wicket win over Balasore in the 67th preliminary league match of the Inter-District U-16 Boys Cricket Tournament at CV Raman Ground in Bhubaneswar today.

Angul rode on an unbeaten 54 by Panakala Sasanka to beat Boudh by nine wickets, while a four-wicket haul by Jahid Khan propelled Jagatsinghpur to an eight-wicket win over Rayagada in two other matches of the day, which was a reserved day.

Originally set to be played on August 17, these three matches had been abandoned without a ball bowled due to rain. Among other notable performers of the day, Balasore batsmen Shivam Agarwal and Subhrajit Jena scored a half-century each.
