  Kalahandi Cup: Swastik hits ton, Basa bags five for

Nine preliminary league matches of the Kalahandi Cup Inter-District Cricket Tournament (Senior & U-19 Men) produced two centuries and four five-wicket hauls at different grounds in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar today. Swastik Samal (119) and Shamsul Khan (110) hit the two tons for Rourkela and Jagatsinghpur respectively.

The five wickets hauls were achieved by Raj Kishan Patel (Jharsuguda), Rahul Choudhary (Bargarh), Ashutosh Ray (Keonjhar) and Aditya Basa (Mayurbhanj). Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sonepur, Cuttack-A, Keonjhar, Paradip, Rourkela, Koraput and Mayurbhanj posted wins in the nine matches of the day.

Match 46
(At KIIT Cricket Stadium, Bhubaneswar): Bhubaneswar-B 98/10 in 32.5 overs (Rohit Sagar 56; Raj Kishan Patel 5/27, Krishna Pallai 3/16) lost to Jharsuguda 102/1  in 28.2 overs (Santosh K Yadav 43*, Md S Armaan 31*; Ritesh Priyaranjan 1/16) by 9 wickets.

(At Driems Cricket Stadium, Tangi, Cuttack): Bargarh 340/8 in 50 overs (Devendra S Kunwar 60, Aryaman Mishra 41, Rakesh R Kishan 40, Nihar R Behera 40, Rupak Pradhan 28, Amit B Rout 26*; Satyajeet Singhdeo 2/71, Rahul K Sahu 2/39) beat Balangir 123/10 in 21 overs (Sourav Kumar Sahu 38, Hara Bentakar 25, Purusottam Padhan 24; Rahul Choudhary 5/24, Bhabatosh Paramanik 2/22) by 64 runs (DLS method, Match reduced to 22 overs, target 188 runs).

Match 48 (At East Coast Railway Stadium, Bhubaneswar): Puri 108/8 in 37.5 overs (Smruti P Swain 21, Shakti S Dash 20; Suman Maharana 3/18, B Purusottam B Patra 2/26) lost to Sonepur 103/2 in 19.1 overs (Suraj K Mohapatra 35*, B Purusottam B Patra 31; L Ayashakanta Mohanty 1/11) by 8 wickets (DLS method, Match reduced to 33 overs, target 100 runs).

Match 49 (At Nimpur Cricket Ground, Cuttack): Jajpur 82/10 in 37.5 overs (Subham Nayak 4/8, Tapas K Das 3/17) lost to Cuttack-A 83/3 in 20 overs (Arvind Singh 33*; Abhilash Biswal 1/11) by 7 wickets.

(At Ravenshaw University Ground, Cuttack): KIIT 152/10 I 41.1 overs (Lohit Mohanty 32, Anish K Rout 28, Manitej Mohanty 20; Ashutosh Ray 5/34, Sudhansu S Senapati 2/17) lost to Keonjhar 153/5 in 43.5 overs (Ruturaj Mohanty 38, Sujit K Barik 32*, Ashutosh Ray 25; Pratik Anurag Das 1/17) by 5 wickets.

Match 54 (At SCB Medical College Ground, Cuttack): Gajapati 40/10 in 17 overs (Aditya K Basa 5/11, Abhijit P Ghana 4/13) lost to Mayurbhanj 43/1 in 8.5 overs (Abhigyan Mohanty 24; Abhijeet Padhy 1/27) by 9 wickets.
