NATIONAL:
*     Won the gold medal with new National Records both in snatch (150kg) and clean & jerk (192kg) for a total of 342kg in 89kg class of the 71st Men Senior National Championship at Railway Indoor Sports Enclave, Visakhapatnam on 26 Feb, 2019.
*     Won the bronze medal with a total lift of 323kg (Snatch 146+C&J 177) in 85kg class of the 70th Men Senior National Championship, held at Mangalore, Karnataka from 21-25 Jan, 2018.
*     Bagged three silver medals in the 77kg category, lifting 141kg in snatch, 175kg in clean and jerk for a total lift of 316 kgs in the 66th Senior Men National Weightlifting Championships, held at the District Sports Complex in Nagpur from March 28 to April 1. 2014.
*     Won the gold medal in the 77kg class, lifting a total of 306kg (138+168) in the Senior National Championship at Bangalore on March 25, 2011.
*     Won the gold medal for Services in the 34th National Games at Jamshedpur, lifting a total of 286kg in the 69kg class on February 23, 2011.
*     Won silver medal in the Senior National Championship at Bhubaneswar in December 2008.
*     Secured gold medal in the 69kg category of the 44th Junior National Championship at Imphal in November 2007.

INTERNATIONAL:
*     Finished 10th in men`s 77kg category, lifting 141kg in snatch and 172kg in clean and jerk for a total of 313kg in the 17th Asian Games, held at Incheon (Republic of Korea) from Sept 19 to Oct 4, 2014.
*     Won a silver medal in men`s 77kg weight class, lifting 142kg in snatch and 175kg in clean and jerk for a total of 317kg in the 20th Commonwealth Games in Glasgow (Scotland) on July 27, 2014.
*     Finished sixth in Group B and 15th overall, lifting 136kg in snatch and 167kg in clean and jerk for a total of 303kg in men`s 69kg category of the London Olympics on July 31, 2012.
*     Bagged three bronze medals in the 69kg class of the Senior Asian Weightlifting Championship at Tongling City, China on April 15, 2011, lifting a total of 306kg, including 139kg in snatch and  167kg in clean and jerk.
*     Finished fifth in 69kg class of the 16th Asian Games at Guangzhou, China, lifting a total of 311kg (Snatch 147kg, clean and jerk 170kg) on November 15, 2010.
*     Won the Gold medal in 69kg class of the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi on 6 October 2010.
*     Bagged three gold medals in 69kg senior category of the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship at Penang in Malaysia on Oct 22, 2009, lifting 135kg in snatch, 170kg in clean & jerk for a total of 305kg.
*     Won a silver medal in the 20th Asian Junior Weightlifting Championship at Jordan in November 2007.

AWARDS/HONOURS:
*     He was conferred with the Biju Patnaik Sportsperson of the Year Award for 2011 by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in Bhubaneswar on August 29, 2014. The award carried a cheque of Rs 1 lakh.
*     Receive the 17th Ekalabya Award for the year 2009-10 on April 11, 2010.
*     Received the Arjuna Award from President Pratibha Devisingh Patil in New Delhi on August 29, 2011.


OTHER IMPORTANT DATA:

*     On 5 November 2019, National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) handed him a four-year ban after he tested positive for Ostarine.
*     On 17 June 2019, National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) provisionally suspended him for anti-doping rule violation.
*     On June 2, 2016, Odisha government appointed him as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) under direct recruitment of sportspersons scheme. He became the first sportsperson in the state to get a job in Group-A category.
*     He was out of action after injuring both the knees during 2014 Asian Games and returned to training in April 2016.
*     Joined Pune-based Military Engineer Services (MES) as Hawaldar in 2008 and resigned as Subedar on March 31, 2016.
*     Took to weightlifting just three years before 2010 Commonwealth Games.
*     His father passed away in the year 2004.
*     Started as Bodybuilder at Veer Hanuman Byayam Kendra in Berhampur.
