*     Bagged the 2nd runner-up prize of Rs 1.5 lakh in Category-A of the 1st SOA International Grand Masters Chess Festival at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University in Bhubaneswar on 4 February 2024.
*     Finished 4th in the Master category of the Torino International Open Chess Tournament in Torino, Italy on 12 December 2022.
*     Bagged the Best Player Award of 500 dollars in 2300-2400 rating category of the 22nd Dubai Open International Chess Tournament, held in Dubai from 27 August to 4 September 2022.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
*     Became the 9th International Master (IM) of the Odisha, crossing the 2400 rating points in the Master category of the Torino International Open Chess Tournament in Torino, Italy on 12 December 2022.
*     Secured his 3rd and final IM norm at the Asian Continental Championship in New Delhi in November 2022.
*     Secured his 2nd International Master (IM) norm during the Dubai Open International Chess Tournament, held in Dubai from 27 August to 4 September 2022.
*     Achieved his first IM norm at the 58th Senior National Championship in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh in February 2022.
*     Started playing competitive chess in 2011.
*     In the 2011 State U-7 championship, a slap from his mother after defeat in the first round, helped Sambit win the title eventually (as reported in the media).
