*     Nita Football Academy (NFA) is the brain-child of Subrat Das, who is a mechanical engineer and Managing Director of large construction group in Odisha.
*     He started the academy in Bhubaneswar with the aim of providing opportunities to underprivileged girls to excel in competitive sports in general and football in particular.
*     NFA President Bhakta Ballav Das is a retired Superintendent of Police with extensive experience in sports management.
*     NFA Vice-Presidents Dilip Kumar Sahoo, Manas Ranjan Samal and Prabhat Kumar Mohapatra are well-known former Santosh Trophy players and currently functioning as office-bearers or selectors at Football Association of Odisha.
*     Arun Parija, the General Secretary of NFA, is also an engineer by profession and carries a passion for nurturing people and talent.
*     Mohammad Shahid Jabbar, the Chief Technical Adviser of TFA, is a former Santosh Trophy player, who served as the head coach of the India womens national football team from 2010 to 2012 and the head coach of Odisha womens football team.
*     Under his coaching, Indian women football team emerged champions in the 2010 South Asian Games and SAFF Womens Championship twice in 2010 and 2012.
*     Honorary member Shikha Tomar is an engineer who worked at Tata Consultancy Services for 18 years.

ACHIEVEMENTS:
*     NFA achieved its first major success by emerging champions in the Odisha Womens League in December 2023.
*     NFA made a mark at the National football map of India by finishing runners-up in the second tier of the Indian Womens League (IWL-2) in Goa on 28 December 2024 and getting a ticket to compete in the IWL 2024-25.
*     Around 30 trainees have played the National-level tournaments and 14 have been placed in government jobs.

JOURNEY OF NITA FOOTBALL ACADEMY:
*     NFA was founded on 15 August 2015 and was and was registered under Nita Football Trust with registration number 41081809788 on 20 August 2018.
*     Eminent footballer-cum-coach, Late Nanda Kishore Patnaik, who was the head coach of NFA, played pivotal role in setting up the academy and expanding its reach to multiple districts.
*     The academy initially functioned at Salia Sahi, Bhubaneswar, under the mentorship of Nanda Kishore Patnaik, who, however, passed away duing COVID-19 in June 2021.
*     Since 2022 the academy has been running a comprehensive football programme on its own international standard grounds including a fully residential facility, integrated with quality education at Cuttack.
*     The residential academy has 110 registered players from Odisha, Jharkhand and West Bengal.
*     NFA has a branch in Puri, which, along with football, also promotes table tennis, kho-kho, kabaddi and handball at Puri Zilla School.
