Delhi beat Orissa by 52 runs
30 Nov 2008

Orissa suffered a 52-run defeat despite taking first innings lead in their four-day Ranji Trophy Group-A Super League match against star-studded Delhi at the Firoz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi today. Played on green-top pitch, the match ended in two days. Needing 149 runs victory, Orissa were bundled out for 96 in the second innings. Earlier, resuming at the overnight score of 38 for four, Delhi rode on precious unbeaten knock of 66 (75, 4x4, 6x4) by S Narwal to compile a second innings total of 152. Orissa, in fact, let Delhi off the hook after reducing to home side to 49 for seven. Narwal rescued the home side by registering three useful partnerships with the tailenders. The 47 runs he put on for the last wicket stand with P Awana came a big setback for the Orissa team. With this win, Delhi secured five points, while Orissa drew blank.
