Sulochana Kisan and Sunita Lakra of Orissa returned home today after helping India win the bronze medal in the Junior (under-21) Asia Cup Women`s Hockey Championship at Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) from December 13 to 21. Trainees of the government-run sports hostel at Panposh (Rourkela), Kisan and Lakra were greeted at Kalinga Stadium here by officials of the State Directorate of Sports. India beat Japan 3-1 to finish third in the championship. Earlier in pool matches, India thrashed Singapore 8-0 and Chinese Taipei 10-0 but lost to South Korea 2-3. Top three finishers of the championship qualified for the World Cup.
