The State Sports and Youth Services Departmen felicitated 129 sportspersons with a total cash incentive of Rs 10,95,000 in a function at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar today. State Election Commissioner Sanjeeb Chandra Hota distributed the incentives for the year 2007-08 in the presence of Sports Department Secretary Taradatt and State Sports Director N P Das. Ace woman hurdler Anuradha Biswal received the highest amount of Rs 75,000. Other major beneficiaries included powerlifter Ranu Mohanty (Rs 50.000), rower Pravasini Deivedy (Rs 40,000), volleyball player Jhililata Sena (Rs 37,500) and hockey stars Dilip Tirkey, Prabodh Tirkey, Ignace Tirkey, Jyoti Sunita Kullu (Rs 25,000 each). The hockey stars barring William Xalxo, volleyball international Sena, chess IM Swayangshu Satyapragyan and a few others could not join the function due to unavoidable reasons.
