  Khatua stays Orissa Ranji coach

Abakash Khatua was reappointed as the coach of Orissa Ranji Trophy team for the year 2009 today. Orissa Cricket Association (OCA) also appointed Daniel Rout, Dhirendra Kumar Rout and Khirod Behera were appointed as coaches of the state under-22, under-19 and under-16 teams respectively. The coaching committee, which met at Cuttack today, authorised OCA secretary Asirbad Behera to appoint two more coaches, physio and trainer of the new academy. The meeting decided to appoint the coach for the women`s team after the completion of the ongoing East Zone two-day tournament at Cuttack. Apart from the appointment of coaches, decision was taken to conduct an all-India tournament in the memory of Late Basant Kumar Biswal at Cuttack in April this year. The tournament with six outstation and two state (Orissa A and B) teams in the fray would be played on 90-over-a-side format, the release added. Former Ranji player R Srikanth and Sourajit Mohapatra were contracted as the chief coach and bowling coach respectively for the State Cricket Academy, which is set to be launched at Cuttack on January 26.
