Sayeed Seminary School trounced Woodland School by nine wickets and Ranihat High School thrashed Queen`s Mary School by 127 runs in the opening-day matches of the Cuttack city inter-school cricket tournament, which commenced under the aegis of Cuttack District Athletic Association at Baliyatra ground in Cuttack today. Altogether 30 schools joined the tournament, which was inaugurated by former India all-rounder Sanjay Raul. Brief scores: Woodland School 74/10 in 23.4 overs (Sarfaraz Nawaz Khan 6/12) lost to Sayeed Seminary 78/1 in 9 overs (Suvendu Samal 38). Ranihat High School 203/10 in 24.4 overs (Rajendra Jena 39, M Akram 32: J Sharma 2/46, S Gochhayat 2/46) beat Queen`s Mary School 76/10 in 19.4 overs (J Debendra 5/24).
