Orissa’s winning run in the 17th Senior National Women’s Football Championship came to an end with a 0-1 defeat at the hands of hosts Tamil Nadu in their last quarterfinal league match at Neyveli today. The all-important goal came off a penalty kick in the 70th minute. Orissa, however, qualified for the semifinals by virtue of their wins over Haryana and Goa earlier. In the semifinals on March 13, Orissa will meet favourites Manipur and Tamil Nadu will take on West Bengal.
