Sundargarh snatched the Nalco Cup, defeating defending champions Angul 6-4, via tie-breaker in the floodlit final of the State Hockey Championship at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack tonight. Tie-break rule was applied after play in the regulation time ended in 1-1 draw. In the shoot-out, Sundargarh converted all the five strokes against three by the opposition. State Education Director Dharanidhar Nath and Justice B P Das of Orissa High Court gave away the trophy and prizes at the closing ceremony. Orissa Olympic Association secretary Asirabad Behera, Orissa Hocokey Association secretary P Satpathy were present on the occasion.
