Orissa boy Debasish Das finished 14th with five points from nine rounds in the 5th Obert International Open Chess Tournament, which concluded at Sort in Spain today. Debasish rounded his performance with a win over WIM Sai Meera (India) in the last round. Earlier, he was beaten in the eighth round by compatriot Rakesh Kulkarni. The second highest rated player of Orissa, Debasish started as ranked 16th and did well to share the third place with 3.5 points from five games. But two defeats and a draw in the next three games saw him slip to the 14th position in the final standings.
